(...)course. And I feel that's spot on. I said that I'd tried all my tactics to stop him from discovering the 'blank' below (to no avail thankfully). He said he saw 'not the blank lump' I defined, but someone caring, trustworthy (and something else nice). I just felt those things were 'things' but when I thought about it they are qualities (certainly, that I and the students valued alot). The thing that cuts is that although I believe it's important for people to make a stand like I've done [at work] I'm not there with the students now. And that brings me great sorrow.
